Rising Spirit

This painting is inspired by the upward feeling the Canary Islands’ high places give you — the moment on La Palma’s caldera rim or Teide’s flank when the cloud layer is below you and the sky widens. Vertical strokes of warm light rise through cooler tones, each one carrying its own sense of lift, the composition gently pulling the eye upward.
The piece is about ascent — physical, emotional, whatever fits. A natural choice for stairwells and tall walls, where the painting’s vertical movement has room to do its work.
