Spectrum of an Atlantic Sunset

This painting is inspired by the moments when a Canary Islands sunset throws every colour at once — pink, orange, yellow, green, even violet — across a wide, quiet sea. Each band sits next to the next without much blending, the composition built like a prism caught mid-refraction, painted on plexiglass so the surface itself carries some of the light.
It is one of the more theatrical pieces in the series. Reads best on a long wall, in a room with daylight: the painting's own surface picks up the room's light and quietly amplifies the colour at different times of day.
